Core Courses FAQs
The Lay Institute allows you to explore different courses at your pace and direction. However, we would recommend beginning with these three courses in the following order:
1. The Story of Scripture
2. Theology Made Simple
3. Simplify
Once these are complete, you will have a firm foundation to build on with other courses.
Each course is designed to take about 1 hour per lesson. This includes watching the video and optional reading, resources, and reflection questions. Most courses can be completed at one lesson per week within the span of an average semester.
Core courses are seminary level, but do not provide seminary credit. If you are interested in seminary credit, check out our All-in-one course to get 12-15 hours of seminary credit through our partner seminaries.
Storyverse is not connected with any one denomination. We strive to present "the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints" (Jude 3). Although our personal background and traditions influence our understanding and teaching, we believe the table of Jesus is wider than our "isms" often force him into. We focus on core concepts of Christianity and entrust personal convictions to the individual and local church.
